Education – Description

The Joint Engineering group values the sharing of knowledge and expertise highly. Therefore, we play an active role in education in three ways.

First, we are co-responsible for bachelor and master courses of various programs, including BSc Mechanical Engineering, BSc Clinical Technology and MSc Biomedical Engineering. The focus in these courses is on design engineering. Also Gabrielle is director of education of the BSc Clinical Technology and responsible for this joint degree program which is hosted by Delft University of Technology, Leiden University and Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Graduation projects and internships

Second, we offer interesting internships within our network of collaborating hospitals, institutes and companies, both national and abroad. We are always looking for motivated students that are interested in design and design based research and share a passion for the musculoskeletal system, sports trauma or skills training are invited to help and to further explore our Joint Engineering research projects. Students with their own plans for graduation projects are most welcome to contact us to discuss how we can help. Demonstration of such initiatives will be rewarded. Surgical skills courses

Third, we play an active role in development and objective assessment of courses and workshops on minimally invasive surgery for surgeons and residents in training.
